Upcoming

SCLUPTURE WORKSHOPS

Join me in any one of these upcoming Sculpture workshops where we sculpt the head, neck, shoulders of a live model/person, in clay. We also work from the skull to look at what creates the forms we see on the surface, and delve into the musculature makeup of the face and head to create a piece that is realistic and believable.

No prior experience in clay or in the figure/head is necessary. I will be taking students one step at a time to complete a piece you can be proud of.  Students with prior experience will be encouraged to go deeper in their knowledge of the subject and bring expression into their pieces, to capture a likeness and the spirit of the model.

Clay Portraiture Workshop

Discover the art of sculpting realistic and expressive clay portraits in this immersive Clay Portraiture Workshop. This hands-on course invites students to create a lifelike sculpture of a live model, focusing on the head, neck, and shoulders while exploring the underlying structures that contribute to the unique features of the human face.

Throughout the workshop, participants will work from a live model and study the skull and facial musculature to understand better the forms and contours that give each face its distinct appearance. By delving into the anatomical makeup of the head and face, students will develop the skills necessary to craft a convincing and realistic sculpture.

The Clay Portraiture Workshop is open to individuals of all experience levels. Beginners will be guided step-by-step through the process of creating a piece they can be proud of, while more advanced students will be encouraged to deepen their understanding of the subject and infuse their work with expression and likeness, capturing the true essence of the model.
